Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Mohamed Edriss has met two delegations from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to discuss cooperation between Egypt and the two African countries.
In a press statement, Edriss said he met Kanyiki Wa Kanyiki Christian, the Chairman of the Trade and Industry Chamber in DR Congo, to discuss means of boosting bilateral ties topped by the trade and investment domains.
The African official was invited to attend the African Chambers of Trade Union meeting due to be held in Egypt in November.
An Egyptian businessmen delegation will also be visiting Kinshasa during the first quarter of 2016, Edriss said.
Also, Edriss met an education, science and technical training delegation from Zambia currently visiting Cairo.
Egypt is keen on developing the African cadres capabilities in light of the Egyptian interest in developing cooperation ties with the African brothers, said Edriss.
The delegation called for increase of the Egyptian scholarships to the Zambians to be 16 starting next year.
They also said they needed the scholarships to cover medicine, engineering and modern technologies.
