Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Wednesday with Secretary General of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Mohamed Ali Alhakim.
They discussed means of boosting cooperation between Egypt and ESCWA in the economic and social fields, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a press statement.
Shoukry praised the role played by ESCWA to achieve economic and sustainable development in Arab countries.
At the end of the meeting, Shoukry witnessed the signing ceremony of the framework of a cooperation agreement between Egypt and ESCWA for the period from 2017 to 2019.
