A Jordanian trade delegation, headed by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah, left for the U.S. to look into the prospects of boosting and diversifying national exports to U.S. markets.
The delegation will visit Chicago and Detroit because Arab communities are found there, in addition to Washington to hold talks with representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other institutions.
Some 36 Jordanian corporations, which seek trade partnerships with U.S. firms, are taking part in the 8-day mission.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, Mohammed Bataineh, said trade and investment exchange figures between the two countries have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years.
He added that the Jordan-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), has resulted in $3 Billion worth of balanced bilateral trade until the end of 2016 compared to $ 570 Million in 2001.
Bataineh said he looks forward to further deepening Jordanian-US investment ties and create new investment opportunities in national sectors capable of competing with international markets.
