Moscow sees no grounds not to trust the investigation into the assassination of head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"We have no reason not to trust this investigation," he said.
When asked whether Russia planned to furnish evidence of Kiev’s involvement in the murder, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that "the republic’s investigative authorities are dealing with the issue."
"Apparently, when specific information appears in the course of this investigation, they will not keep it secret," Peskov said, adding that the Donbass investigative authorities have already provided evidence of Ukraine’s possible involvement in that crime.
Zakharchenko was killed in a blast in a caf· in the center of Donetsk on August 31. Several suspects have been detained. All of them pointed to Kiev’s involvement in the assassination. The Ukrainian Security Service has disclaimed responsibility.
