A joint mission of observers from Sweden and Denmark will make a flight over the territory of Russia on board Sweden’s SAAB-340B within August 10-14, head of the Russian National Centre for Reducing Nuclear Threat Sergei Ryzhkov told TASS.
"During the flight along the agreed route, Russian specialists on board the aircraft will control strict compliance with the agreed parameters of the flight and use of the equipment under the [Open Skies] Treaty," he said.
SAAB-340B is not equipped with weapons. The aircraft and the observation equipment installed on it (aero photo apparatuses) have received international licenses from specialists, including Russia, thus the aircraft cannot have technical means beyond the Open Skies Treaty provisions, the official said.
