Fourteen sailors were rescued after their boat caught fire in Dubai Creek on Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 9am near Floating Bridge that connects Bur Dubai with Deira. The crossing was temporarily closed while a fire fighting boat tackled the blaze and the crew were moved to a Civil Defence boat.
Dubai Police asked motorists to use alternative routes.
"It happened about eight miles from Ras Al Khor. Sailors were in the boat and all of were unharmed," a spokesperson for Dubai Civil Defence said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
