Speaker of the Arab Parliament Meshaal al Selmy has called for supporting the initiative of Kuwait to host a conference on reconstructing Iraqi areas liberated from terrorist Daesh group.
Addressing the Iraqi parliament Tuesday, Selmy also called for bolstering relations between Iraq and other Arab states at the highest level, expressing his support for national reconciliation efforts in Iraq through political dialogue.
He stressed the importance of enabling the displaced Iraqis, who were forced to leave their homes because of terrorism, to return as soon as possible, saying the Arab parliament backs Iraqi efforts to fight Daesh which threatened not only Iraq but also the Arab nation.
Selmy asserted that his parliament supported Iraqi's sovereignty on its territories and rejects interference in Iraq's internal affairs.
He said the Arab parliament praises the stances of Arab countries that took part in the US-led international coalition against terrorism to fight Daesh in Syria and Iraq.
