The civil defence team extinguished a fire that broke out in early hours of Tuesday in 2 warehouses in the industrial area, and after that the cooling operations were carried out. General Director of Civil Defence highlighted that around 24 vehicles and 95 personnel were deployed to the scene and succeeded in controlling the flames.
He said that one civil defence personnel sustained minor injuries. He said that the high winds, the inflammable items at the site and the type of building had helped in the spreading of the fire. He said that the warehouse contained large quantity of medical, chemical and tobacco materials. The Unit specialised in dealing with dangerous substances was deployed to the scene for ongoing monitoring of the situation. He said that investigation will continue to know the reason behind the fire. (MOI Police Media)
