The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Sunday that terrorist Daesh group controls only an area of 15 kilometers in the city of Raqqa, southern the Euphrates River.
The SOHR explained that the Syrian army was able to make new progress after controlling the town of Ghanem Al Ali and the village of Al Shareda in the southern bank of the Euphrates River and the eastern countryside of Raqqa, US Al Hurra TV news channel reported.
At least 38 people were killed on Saturday, including 17 members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and tens others wounded in clashes and bombing, which targeted Daesh sites in Raqqa during the past 24 hours.
