Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed hope that Kuwait and Russia would move forward in implementing joint agreements between the two countries.
Kuwaiti Emir ٍSheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah received Lavrov Monday on his official visit to Kuwait that is aiming at discussing the implementation of agreements reached during last visit of the Kuwaiti Emir to Russia in 2015.
Lavrov said that this visit comes within the framework of enhancing bilateral relations and to coordinate positions on issues of mutual concern.
The top diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Al Sabah and voiced the president's appreciation to the positive results of the Emir's visit to Russia in 2015.
He pointed out that the visit of Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah to Russia in 2016 was fruitful as it tackled boosting joint cooperation in various fields and on different issues of common interest.
