Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, the Regent, on Thursday received Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, who is leading his country's delegation to meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee that will meet in Amman today, said Petra news agency.
The meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, which was attended by Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki, focused on means to forge closer cooperation between the two countries in various fields, build on the outcome of committee's meetings and activate agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between them.
Prince Faisal reviewed efforts exerted by Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to find a quick solution to the crisis at Haram Al Sharif compound and fully open the Al Aqsa Mosque.
They also stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultations on challenges facing the region in order to serve Arab causes and achieve security and stability for its peoples.
The Egyptian prime minister highlighted the strong ties between the two countries and their leaderships, adding that his country is keen to continue coordination and consultations with Jordan on various issues.
The meeting was also attended by the Royal Court chief and the Egyptian ambassador in Amman Tarek Adel.
