French President Emmanuel Macron will meet Tuesday with Commander of the Libyan Army Khalifa Haftar and head of the Libyan presidential council Fayez al Sarraj to discuss a way out of the Libyan crisis.
Paris is seeking to broker a political consensus between the two sides through a settlement that would bring all Libyan parties under the umbrella of the UN, the French presidency said.
This is needed to control the Libyan borders and counter terrorist groups and the smuggling of weapons and human trafficking, the presidency said.
