Head of the delegation of the Syrian opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC) Nasr Al Hariri said on Monday the committee will meet in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in mid-August in order to prepare for the next round of Geneva peace talks.
The meeting will be attended by the Cairo and Moscow platforms, Hariri told Sky News.
A plenary conference bringing together all Syrian opposition groups will be held in October in an attempt to forge a unified front in negotiations to end the war and launch a political transition, Hariri said.
The HNC is a Saudi-backed negotiating body, comprising representatives of several Syrian opposition groups. It was created in December 2015 to represent the opposition at Geneva peace talks.
