A fierce gun battle broke out between the Afghan army and terrorist Taliban group militants, leaving 12 Taliban militants dead in Farah province, western Afghanistan.
The violent clashes also left six Afghan army soldiers dead, spokesman for Farah province Mohamed Naser Mahdy said Saturday, according to ABC News.
Mahdy explained that the battle took place on Friday after Taliban stormed an Afghan security complex in Pusht Rod district, adding that the fighting lasted for five hours.
Meanwhile, Governor of Badakhshan Ahmed Faisal Begzad said Saturday that 11 policemen were killed and six others wounded during a battle with Taliban militants in Tagab district.
