At least 14 militants affiliated to Daesh terrorist group were killed Tuesday in security operations carried out by Afghan forces in Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan.
The militants were targeted in Achin district of Nangarhar which is considered as one of the main strongholds of the terror group.
The provincial government media office said in a statement Tuesday that security operations were conducted over the past 24 hours in cooperation with the air force along with artillery units of the Afghan national army.
Several foreign insurgents were found among the dead, the statement added.
Heavy and light weapons used by the terror group were also destroyed during the operation, the statement further added.
