At least 15 Taliban gunmen were wounded and killed in clashes in Maidan Wardak Province in central Afghanistan, Khaama press agency reported quoting well-reliable sources Monday.
In a statement, the sources said clashes took place in Syedabad district on Sunday.
Scores of Taliban gunmen attacked security positions in the province in a coordinated manner.
According to the statement, at least eight Taliban militants were killed and six others wounded during the clashes.
Afghan security forces seized rocket launchers and other military equipment that were in the militants' possession.
