Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Friday a phone call from UN Secretary General António Guterres ahead of his tour of Palestine and Israel.
In statements, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid said that the two sides discussed means of pushing forward the Middle East peace process and Egypt's estimate of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
They also discussed the situation in Libya and the latest developments related to the Qatari crisis, the spokesman added.
