FM, UN official discuss int'l counter-terrorism file

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a meeting on Tuesday with Executive Director of Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (CTED) and Assistant Secretary-General Jean-Paul Laborde on the latest developments related to the international fight against terrorism.
In statements, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the two sides reviewed Egypt's efforts to combat terrorism and the latest developments of the Qatari crisis.
Shoukry reiterated that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain stick to their demands that were presented to the Qatari side to re-establish ties with Doha, the spokesman added.
Shoukry also stressed the necessity of standing united in the face of those supporting terrorist groups that claimed the lives of innocent people daily, the spokesman said.
For his part, the UN official lauded Egypt's key role in fighting terrorism in its capacity as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
