Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar on Wednesday asserted that his ministry's mission is to achieve security with its comprehensive concept while respecting human rights.
In a speech at a seminar on human rights, that was read out on his behalf by his assistant Major General Hossam Nassar, Abdel Ghaffar said that his ministry will remain committed to its goal to protect and to serve, promising to continue extending civil services to citizens despite major security challenges that are threatening the whole world.
The symposium was held in the police research center of the Police Academy.
The Interior Ministry has set up in 2012 a division for human rights affairs along with another department for fighting violence against women, he added.
The ministry is exerting all efforts for spreading the culture of human rights and enhancing harmony between the police apparatus and the public, he pointed out.
