Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed with US President Donald Trump's envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt Al Aqsa mosque crisis in Al Quds.
Safadi has met with the US presidential envoy on Monday evening, to discuss ways to end Al Aqsa crisis.
Also, Safadi phoned his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano to stress the need to take immediate steps to stop the escalation in Al Quds, adding that Israel must respect the historical and legal status in the holy places and abolish the unilateral measures which aim to impose a new status quo on the ground.
Both ministers discussed efforts to end the crisis, warning of the consequences of exacerbating it.
Israel closed Al Aqsa mosque and intensified the security measures at the mosque by installing metal detectors, after three Israeli Arabs killed two Israeli policemen on Friday. Protests have occurred ever scene demanding the removal of the metal detectors.
