A senior leader of Ansar Bait al-Maqdis terrorist group was killed in a firefight with policemen in el Arish city, North Sinai.
Ahmed Hassan, 32, was tasked with recruiting militants for the terrorist group, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hassan was hiding inside an under-construction house along with another terrorist when security forces opened fire on them.
The other militant managed to flee the scene, but a manhunt was launched to arrest him.
