Regional director of the Palestinian Airlines Hatem Abu Reida on Sunday lauded the Egyptian government’s efforts for providing facilitation for the Palestinian pilgrims passing from Rafah crossing, on their way to Saudi Arabia via Cairo International Airport.
In a statement Abu Reida thanked Minister of transportation Hisham Arafat as well as security bodies at Rafah crossing and Cairo International Airport for their cooperation to ensure the safety of the Palestinian pilgrims.
Abu Reida noted that all preparations for receiving pilgrims coming from the Gaza
Strip will be finished on Tuesday.
Palestinian Minister of Transportation Sameeh Tubaila and general director of Palestinian Airlines Mansour Ibrahim directed to provide Palestinian pilgrims from southern governorates with all needed facilities, Abu Reida said.
Abu Reida pointed out that EgyptAir, the national flag carrier, is scheduled to operate 11 flights to transfer pilgrims from Ghaza Strip to go and back from Saudi Arabia.
Abu Reida expounded that the number of total Palestinian pilgrims this year hit 2956, noting that a staff from the Palestinian embassy in Cairo and another from the Palestinian Airlines will help pilgrims in Rafah crossing to facilitate traveling procedures to Cairo.
The Palestinian Airlines alongside Palestinian embassy assigned staffs to receive pilgrims at the seasonal terminal of Cairo International Airport to help in finishing needed procedures.
