Al Azhar on Monday condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a restaurant in Burkina Faso, killing at least 18 people.
In a statement, the top Sunni Islam authority stressed its long-standing stance rejecting violence and terrorism in all forms.
It expressed its deepest condolences to the government of Burkina Faso and the families of the victims.
The attack in the capital of Burkina Faso left 20 people dead
