Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit has condemned in the strongest terms a failed terrorist attack that targeted Mecca's Grand Mosque Friday.
The foiled attack left dozens of civilians and policemen wounded.
Abul Gheit wished the injured a speedy recovery and voiced full support for Saudi Arabia in the face of criminal acts that aim to destabilize the Kingdom.
He regretted the fact that the attack took place during the fasting month of Ramadan and at the Grand Mosque.
Such acts entail immediate moves at the Arab, Muslim and international levels to deter funders and perpetrators of those operations, Abul Gheit urged.
