The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Wednesday the brutal killing of 31 fishermen on Sunday in Nigeria's Duguri and Dabar Wanzam islands in Lake Chad.
Secretary General Yousef Bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen denounced the cowardly attacks claimed by extremist Boko Haram group.
Al Othaimeen called for an end to such deplorable acts, expressing his deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Nigerian government and people.
He also reaffirmed the OIC's full solidarity with the Nigerian authorities in their efforts to combat the terrorist group, urging regional countries to step up the fight against extremists and to continuously adapt to their ever-changing tactics.
