Egypt's Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouli said on Saturday that a a national committee will be formed to provide an integrated database on Egyptian expats.
The panel is to be chaired by Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram and representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, interior, manpower, communications and IT and planning, follow-up and administrative reform.
It will exercise its powers in coordination with all the ministries and departments concerned as part of directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard, said the Cabinet's spokesman Nader Saad.
The committee shall have access to any information available on Egyptian expatriates at the relevant ministries and departments, Saad noted.
"No information may be withheld from the committee," said the spokesman.
This step aims at making the utmost of the abilities of Egyptian expats in such a manner that will serve the state sustainable development plan (Egypt's Vision 2030), the spokesman added.
