Threatening Gulf citizens in Lebanon... The nonsense logic

threatening gulf citizens in lebanon the nonsense logic

Khairallah Khairallah

What Lebanon is being exposed to has gone beyond all limits. There is a clear attempt to create a state of boycott between Lebanon and the Gulf states based on their support for the Syrian people's revolution. What has Lebanon and the Lebanese got to do with this? It is the nonsense logic adopted by the Iran-Syria alliance and its local agents in Lebanon, along with the agents of the agents. This nonsense logic is meant to isolate Lebanon out of its Arab surrounding in order to make it ready to serve as an "open arena" for settling scores with the Arabs, Turks and the international community. The fact that it seems impossible to find any sort of logic in the threats directed at the Gulf citizens or the kidnapping operations targeting Turks, is based on another fact that would never lead to any change in Syria. The family regime of al-Baath Party has fallen since the children of Daraa lost fear of it a year and half ago. Since then, this regime has failed to find any answer to its people's demands apart from killing. The dubious conduct of pro-Syrian regime groups in Lebanon couldn't be aimed at anything but taking revenge on Lebanon. That is what all the Lebanese are expected to be aware of and what the Lebanese government is expected to address through firm actions against all those who threaten the citizens of the Gulf states, Turkey or any other state in the world. How it can be explained that the Lebanese government is doing nothing regarding insults directed by some Lebanese people at the Gulf states and Turkey? These people are known to all, apparently except the Lebanese government. Isn't the government's silence questionable? Especially at a time where it seems clear that all the security problems taking place in the small country are part of a plot aimed at cutting all the lifelines extended to Lebanon, starting with the case of the former minister Michel Samaha's explosives, closing the airport highway and the disputes being created in Tripoli by Syrian security agencies and their associates in Lebanon. This government is acting as a government of the Iran-associated Hezbollah group rather than a government of the Lebanese state. That is the only reason that could explain why Prime Minister Najib Mikati didn't act in a way that reflects real concern over the direct threats on Gulf citizens in Lebanon which happened for the first time in the country's history since independence. It is unbelievable that there isn't a single minister in the Lebanese government who can anticipate the significance of the harm that could be drawn to Lebanon and the Lebanese if they are to join the Syrian-Iranian campaign against the Arabs in the region. Of course there are at least some government ministers who are aware of the reactions such threats could bring and the fact that the Gulf states have never fallen short of Lebanese expectations. They must have known who cleared South Lebanon's lands from Israeli mines, reopened the southern roads, rebuilt entire villages  destroyed by Israeli raids, supported the Lebanese currency and prevented a possible collapse of the Lebanese economy. Whenever they were needed, the Gulf states were always there to help Lebanon, either through direct aids or through the financial transfers sent by tens of thousands of Lebanese who work in the Gulf. Needless to list the aid granted and still being granted by the Gulf states to Lebanon. The real need is for the Lebanese government to stop the plot the Lebanese are exposed to. Of course if this government is not a part of the plot itself. This plot is aimed at imposing Iran's control over the small country, and ensuring that the elimination of the Syrian will not affect this control. The Lebanese are now supposed to realise that Hezbollah's government in Lebanon is here to stay and that their Foreign Minister has been taking his orders from Tehran since Iran hijacked the Lebanese Foreign Ministry as a precaution. This was in anticipation that one day there will not be anybody in Damascus to send the orders to. This issue is not just threatening Gulf and Turkish citizens. It is about Iran which recruited many people in Lebanon and now believes that the small country has been turned into its own colony, especially after Iran owned the decision of keeping peace and launching wars in Lebanon. It has recently built the ability to eliminate governments and set up others in Lebanon because it owns the most powerful militia in the country. The militia controls every street in Beirut as well as the city's air and sea ports. In other words, it controls Beirut's land, water and sky! Will any of the Lebanese ministers dare to speak out over this plan? I mean the plan of preparing Lebanon to live under Iran's censorship instead of Syria's and to lose normal relations with the Arab Gulf that Iran insists to name as the Persian Gulf. That is the offer given by Iran to the Lebanese at this stage. The Lebanese are supposed to refuse receiving any Syrian refugee in their country and to just surrender to their Iranian fate. Lebanon's Sunni Prime Minister is supposed to forget his Arab and Lebanese identity. Every Druze citizen is supposed to thank his god everyday because Iran let him to live. Every Christian official or even a common citizen is supposed to glorify the minorities' alliance in the region once every day and once every night and to forget that this kind of alliance is well known to be an Israeli product, even if it is supported by some ill-minded Christian officials of the same league as the Christian MP Michel Aoun.  --- The views expressed by the author do not necessarily represent or reflect the editorial policy of Arabstoday.
