Resignation of the government is not enough

resignation of the government is not enough

Osama Al Rantissi

The most popular topic amongst political elites in the country, since the decree of raising the price of fuel, is the question of who will follow Fayez Tarawneh in the new government. The list of names and information discussed is unlimited. Even if it was accurate or just to draw attention to the names, from Abdul Karim al-Kabariti, who was said to have refused to form the government  and Nasser Louzi. The availability to open a new dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood  has been recently noticed in their  change in speech. These paramilitary governments and the list of names is headed by Muhammad Raqqad and ends with Hussein Hazza al-Majali. The governmental change is not important now. The government to Tarawneh was not welcomed by anyone and the citizen did not feel that it represented him, but it was and still is working as a temporary government that listens to the voices of its members only. Due to this, the Jordanian people deserve to be listened and to accept their demands after all these sufferings for many years. The official politics, contrary to this correct hypothesis, gives its back to the sufferings of a wide section in the society, not only this, but the recent procedures refers to a  morbid level of carelessness towards the people’s interests and to the bad living conditions. It’s difficult to see another example in the state’s neglect of responsibilities by providing the basic needs to the society like in Jordan, in  developing countries and in the Third World.  The conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal with it in a very peculiar way as if it was a Fundamental Charter. At the same time the conditions violate the basic articles in the Jordanian constitution, that state the rights and duties of the civilians. It’s not logic to see what is happening by accepting the conditions of the IMF and appointments of the Social security. It’s also not logic to set laws for parties and elections which are irrelevant to people’s participation in decision-making during the ongoing revolution. The recent governmental decrees were possible to lead to civil disobedience in the country, if it hadn’t been for the decree of freezing the raise of fuel prices. So which human mind came up with this? Without reviewing the economic policies and the laws for political living, the peaceful movement mechanisms will automatically switch to becoming violent and chaotic. And without convincing the people that the doors of the illegal looting has closed for ever, and what they pay from taxes ,which  is the highest in the world  will go to the treasury. And what is coming from aid funds will not go anywhere else except to the  treasury.  All what is said about reforms will only remain words and the citizen will lose trust in everything. It’s not important to change faces, we used many men in Jordan, the most important is changing the way people think and listen.
